IT Project Manager
Birmingham, AL | Full-Time | Hybrid (2–3 days in office)
ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle of technology initiatives — from infrastructure upgrades and software implementations to system integrations and cybersecurity projects. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the organization, drive adoption of Project Management Office (PMO) best practices, and present progress and outcomes directly to senior leadership. This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham, AL with a collaborative, results-driven team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO • Plan and manage end-to-end IT projects by defining scope, goals, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. • Build and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation matrices. • Proactively identify risks and issues; develop and execute mitigation strategies. • Facilitate regular status meetings, steering committee updates, and executive-level reporting. • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and third-party deliverables. • Drive adoption of PMO standards, tools, and best practices across the team. • Mentor junior project coordinators and analysts as needed to support team growth.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • 3+ years of IT project management experience with a demonstrated track record of delivering projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification — or actively pursuing one. • Proficiency with PM tools such as Jira, MS Project, Asana, or Smartsheet. • Solid understanding of core IT concepts including infrastructure, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), cloud migration, and networking basics. • Strong communication skills with the ability to present clearly and confidently to senior leadership. • Collaborative, delivery-focused mindset — someone who follows through and finishes what they start.
NICE TO HAVE • Familiarity with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework. • Scrum Master certification (Certified ScrumMaster / CSM or Professional Scrum Master / PSM).
