Overview: This role focuses on consultative sales within the estate planning space, serving as the primary point of contact for individuals and families seeking to protect their futures. The consultant educates prospective clients on wills, trusts, and healthcare directives, guiding them toward the plan that best fits their needs. This is an in-person, field-based position located in the Norfolk, Virginia area.
Responsibilities: - Conduct in-depth discovery meetings with prospective clients to understand their family dynamics, assets, and long-term goals - Explain complex legal and financial concepts such as probate avoidance, tax mitigation, and asset protection in clear, accessible terms - Manage inbound leads and warm referrals through a CRM-based sales pipeline - Build referral relationships with financial advisors, CPAs, and real estate professionals in the local community
Requirements: - 3+ years of success in high-ticket consultative sales, ideally in financial services, insurance, or legal services - Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to handle sensitive topics such as illness, family conflict, and end-of-life planning with empathy and tact - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate legal terminology into plain language - Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or Clio); knowledge of living trusts and estate planning instruments is a strong plus
