Overview: This role offers an opportunity to apply advanced electrical and power systems engineering expertise in a public sector environment, supporting county facilities and landfill sites. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in power distribution and protection systems, from 12kV down to 120V, and is comfortable working across both field and office settings. Strong technical judgment and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external contractors are essential.
Responsibilities: - Provide electrical engineering support for county facilities and landfill sites, including field inspections, data collection, and process mapping. - Prepare, review, and perform QA/QC on technical documents, plans, specifications, and work submitted by design consultants and contractors. - Assist with electrical engineering studies, design documents, and construction packages across power systems ranging from 12kV to 120V. - Develop best practices and support staff training related to landfill electrical systems and regulatory compliance.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in power systems design, distribution, and protection. - Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE) required. - Experience with CADD, process instrumentation, process controls, P&IDs, and loop diagrams is strongly preferred. - Valid California Driver's License and permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
