Overview:
We’re seeking a Residential Slab Mason to perform fast-paced, high-quality concrete slab work on residential construction projects. This role requires proven experience completing slab pours efficiently, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked extensively in the greater Sarasota area and understand local residential construction standards.
Responsibilities:
- Set forms and prepare residential sites for slab pours, including layout and grading.
- Pour, place, level, and finish concrete slabs with speed and precision.
- Install rebar or welded wire mesh according to project requirements.
- Operate hand and power tools (trowels, screeds, floats, lasers, etc.) safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints and site plans to ensure accurate dimensions and elevations.
- Monitor curing processes and perform finishing work such as edging, jointing, and sealing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site while meeting tight project timelines.
- Work closely with crew leads, masons, and laborers to keep residential projects moving quickly.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a slab mason, concrete finisher, or in residential concrete work.
- Proven experience completing residential slab work in the greater Sarasota area.
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
- Strong knowledge of form setting, pouring, leveling, and finishing concrete slabs.
- Ability to read construction blueprints and use concrete-specific tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with Florida job site conditions and residential building practices.
- Reliable transportation to local job sites.
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors, and stand for extended periods.
